The Mission of the Orcas Animal Protection Society
     is to promote the humane care of animals by:
  1. operating an animal shelter;
  2. educating the public about responsible pet care;
  3. facilitating the adoption of unwanted dogs and cats into loving homes;
  4. providing spay/neuter services to reduce the number of homeless dogs and cats.

Services Provided
  • Accepting stray animals or those relinquished by an owner;
  • Offering cats and dogs for adoption;
  • Training youth and adult volunteers for animal care tasks;
  • Scanning of found animals for microchip identification;
  • Feral cat testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia, as well as spaying or neutering before returning them to their home territory;
  • Offering lower cost spays and neuters.

Services Not Provided
  • Accepting any wild animals;
  • Accepting gravely injured or obviously sick stray animals;
  • Boarding owned animals;
  • Euthanizing animals, except if in the best interest of the animal.
