Helping Partner Shelters in Need
Orcas Animal Protection Loading ImageSociety has continued to help cats and dogs from nearby shelters. In 2010, the Orcas Animal Shelter has taken in many kittens from the Cats Meow Shelter in Anacortes and dogs, cats, and kittens from Whatcom Humane in Bellingham. Almost all of these lucky pets have already found homes.
Loading ImageBecause of the great response, the Orcas APS plans to continue to partner with other shelters in Washington to help resolve over-capacity issues. As space permits, we are able to take in adoptable animals, saving many that might otherwise be euthanized in overcrowded off-island shelters.
