Low Cost Spay/Neuter Service

The Orcas Animal Protection Society is happy to offer spay/neuter surgery for both cats and dogs of Orcas Island residents needing financial assistance. A generous grant from the Bernice Barbour Foundation provides the funding. For information and to schedule an appointment call 376-6777.

San Juan County Dog License

San Juan County requires all dog owners to license their dog yearly. That’s right – every year.
It’s the law!
Annual licenses are available at:

  • Orcas Animal Shelter
  • Eastsound Kennels.
  • Pawki’s

Dog licenses cost $30 for intact dogs and $12 for spayed/neutered dogs. Late fee after March 31st.

Other Services Provided:

  • Scanning of found animals for microchip identification;
  • Feral cat testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia, as well as spaying or neutering
    before returning them to their home territory;
  • Providing a convenient place for dog owners to purchase annual dog license.
