Dog Walkers Needed

We currently need volunteers to walk our shelter dogs. The dogs look forward to daily walks and time alone with their 2-footed friends. If you have the time and would like to share it with one of our canines, please stop by the shelter or call us at 376-6777 for details on how to volunteer.

The Orcas Animal Protection Society offers special low cost spaying/neutering for dogs and cats of Orcas residents needing a subsidized rate. This is particularly beneficial for those residents who may not otherwise be able to afford to spay/neuter their cats and dogs. Cat surgeries are performed at the shelter and involve an overnight stay at no extra charge. The cost for a cat neuter is $10, a cat spay is $20. There's a place in your community where the hungry are fed, the homeless are sheltered, and the abandoned are comforted. It's the Orcas Animal Shelter, where care is provided for our homeless animals. The Orcas Animal Shelter offers many other services for pets and their owners.

To do all this, we rely on the support of people like you. Whether you're here to just spend some time with our furry friends, find a new pet, or have concerns about animal issues, we can help both the two and the 4-legged members of our Orcas community.
